Seeking God in Prayer, Work & Community

Let them prefer nothing whatever to Christ.
RB 72.11

The God you seek is also seeking you. He has put a desire into your heart. It is nothing you could have planned. It is his gift. The call to enter a monastery is Christ's invitation to seek him in a particular community, place, and way of life. The vocation to be a Cistercian monk is to prefer nothing to the love of Christ.

It is to seek God in the rhythm of the day, through the Divine Office, the celebration of the Eucharist, lectio divina, work, community life, silence and solitude. It is to share the journey to God with brethren who support and encourage you along the way.

Supporting with the greatest patience one another's weaknesses of body or behaviour.
