Music Ministry Together Summer School
Mount St Joseph Abbey is delighted to welcome back Music Ministry Together for its second annual summer school which runs from 16th August – 21 August, here at Cistercian College, Roscrea.
The theme of this year’s summer school is “Make Your Home in Me”, reminding us that no matter who we are or where we come from, we all belong to the universal church. It reminds us too of the constant need to have Jesus in our lives, for him to make his home in our hearts so that we, just as Jesus did, and as we are reminded by Pope Francis, can be true beacons of light in the world.
Music Ministry Together is a five-day summer school held at Cistercian College Roscrea, for youth and adult leaders who have a passion for liturgical music and the desire to serve as ministers in their parishes, schools and communities. During the summer school, participants gather together as music ministers. There are various sessions to teach and learn church music together. Choir leaders will experience being choir members and hopefully, some choir members will have a go at being choir leaders. There is also the opportunity to prepare and participate in various styles of Liturgy, share the Eucharist and Sacraments and Catechesis. Finally, there will also be time to have fun, with organised activities and entertainment through the week.
