Lenten Retreat: 12-14 March 2010

The Cistercian community at Mount Saint Joseph Abbey, just outside Roscrea in Co. Tipperary, was founded in 1878. Today the community numbers about 20 monks. Besides running a farm and boarding school for boys, the monks have two guesthouses where people of all faiths and none are welcome to spent a few quiet days of retreat and reflection.

This Lenten Retreat invites people to Come Away to a Quiet Place. The mid point in Lent gives people time to reflect on the Pascal Mystery, and prepare for the coming of Easter. Participants are welcome to join the monks in the Abbey Church for the Liturgy of the Hours during this weekend.

The retreat is residential from Friday afternoon to after lunch on Sunday. Non residential participation is also possible.
